The air emissions resulting from the production of Retort coke are monitored closely, and as such, Pacific Carbon is proud of its clean combustion technology which supports environmental protection. Independent companies have analysed stack emissions from the Retorts and a detailed breakdown is highlighted below.
The readings above make it clear that contributions to air pollution are not such as to be of concern to the environment.

The impacts on nearby areas are illustrated below;

Pacific Carbons "Stack Analysis"

Pacific Carbons "Stack Analysis"

  1. SO2, Chlorine and Fluorine emissions are all below 4% of allowable limits
  2. NO2 emissions are below 9% of allowable limits
  3. Total Suspended Particulates are below 14% of allowable limits and
  4. Particulate matter less than 10 microns are below 17% of allowable limits.

The results conclusively indicate that all predicted ground level concentrations are significantly below the maximum allowable ground level concentrations set by the NEPC.
